Enduring Understandings

At the end of the lessons, students should have a basic understanding of the following concepts:

1. The world's supply of fresh water is limited, and human actions impact the quality of water as well as access to water.
2. There are actions that can be taken, both individually and collectively, to improve water conditions for people in different regions of the world.
3. The engineering design process can be applied to solve practical problems such as purifying water.
4. Resource scarcity can lead to conflict; in other situations, collaboration can provide peaceful solutions.
